Mr Putty Pants Stays Goes Extreme

I'm away with my humans again staying at a little B&B called Rose Cottage in Picton. Being the curious little fellow that I am, I rummaged around and checked into everything I could reach. My human handler, New Big Friend, seen here, informed me we would be doing some extreme sports today. What's that? Funny humans!

Not knowing what to wear, I put on my stout boots and dashing cap then settled myself in for breakfast. Come on, chop chop with the grub, there's a hungry fellow here.

I needed to kill some time waiting for the humans to finish eating, so I entertained myself with a small human who was staying here. I tried to get her to move over and share her cool rocker but she was not compliant.

So I put on my best funny face to distract her...

...but I only ended up making her cry. I quickly departed in order to escape the glares of the still eating humans.

Finally we get out of the house and into the countryside. My human handlers have decided to go rock climbing and insist I come with them. I don't think so, look at that, it's straight up.

I protested and refused to budge. There's nothing that can make me move from here.

Those cunning humans, they planted a bag of chocolates up the cliff knowing I can't resist them. So up I clamber...urg...I better not get my mittens dirty!

Extreme Putty on the cliff face, watch out below rocks will be falling. Ha, ha, look at them scurry out of the way.

Ah ha, I've reached the bag of chocolates, this is where I stop...and of course, gobble down some delicious goodies. Yum!

After an exhilarating day on death defying climbing, dropping rocks on my humans and feeling rather well rounded from eating my favourite food, I was ready for dinner. Come on with the food, what's with the service around here.

After dinner New Big Friend and I take a late night stroll down to the river to check out what's going on. Humm, apparently nothing.

So we headed back and fell asleep on the couch watching TV. Oh the life of an extreme adventurer.

Mr Putty Pants On The Loose

In June, my humans and I went on a road trip to Prince Edward County. I stopped to admire the lilacs blooming at the side of the road. That's me, the handsome fellow on the fence.

Not content with viewing from a distance, I managed to clamber up a tree and get cozy with the blossems. Yum, smells good.

After falling out of the tree, I needed to gather my wits and relax a bit. Since I bruise like a peach, I decided I'd better be more careful in future. Perhaps I'll take a nice little stroll across this field.

Feeling exhausted from an invigorating march across the field, I came to another fence...urg...I'm tired but managed to struggle over, pricking my bottom on a branch..ouch. Not sure where to go, I decided to follow the fenceline for a bit.

Hey what's this, a gate? I wished I'd seen this before I heaved myself over that darn fence. My bottom still hurts.

Look at all these signs...opps, I guess I'm in BIG trouble, ha, ha! But being a considerate and thoughtful little fellow, I decided to open the gate so everyone could come and go more easily. Time to go and find my humans, I can hear them calling for me somewhere down the road.

Mr Putty Pants Spends A Day In The Countryside

My handlers took me to the country earlier this spring to visit Girly's parents and our childhood home. I spent my first sixteen years here
before Girly dragged me off to the city.

It's good to see my old home again and I immediately started clambering about my favourite haunts checking into everything and making sure
things are as they should be.

Hmmm, things look good from up here.

I even took time to examine the enchanting spring flora in the area.

How adorable, I'll try not to step on them.

Feeling unusually generous, I decided I'd help Girly's dad with his vegetable garden. He wasn't amused when I sort-of-accidentally dug out his seedlings. Being a smart little fellow, I beat a hasty retreat as rocks whistled by my head.

Not discouraged by the gardening incident, I noticed a stack of wood all neatly piled and waiting for my inspection. Well, I don't know how it happened, but somehow the logs got out of control and ended up rolling down the hill. Curses were ringing in my ears as I dashed off into the bushes.

I caught up with New Big Friend and we sat together in the swamp listening to very loud frogs singing their spring songs. Of course, being the cool dudes that we are, we ended up bursting into full song to accompany the frogs. Girly thinks we're strange, but we were definitely "One with the Frogs", something not everyone can understand.

Eventually I had a dire need to use the facilities, but Girly wouldn't take me back to the house since her dad was still on the rampage looking for me. She picked up a hunk of birch bark and handed it to me, saying that's what one uses in the bush. I DON'T THINK SO! I'm a bit of a city dude now. I guess I'll just have to hold on...urg!

Whilst I'm busy holding on, they wander off leaving me to catch up. It's just like them to turn around in time to catch me struggling over a log, causing a whole lot of laughing and pointing. I'll get them!

I'm so winded by all the fresh air and exercise I decided to protest by plunking myself down on a rock and refusing to move. Girly will have to carry me back to the house. Ha, ha, I win!

Mr Putty Pants At Point Pelee

One fall my handlers took me on a road trip with them to Point Pelee. It's a long drive but the weather was great and New Big Friend let me drive again. Girly's always worried I'm going to do something crazy when I'm behind the wheel. I do like to keep her guessing, and she might be right, ha ha!

Point Pelee is a big marsh, full of interesting wildlife.

Here's a shot of two stunningly handsome fellows found wandering around the boardwalk.

They let me loose in the marsh. I felt right at home rummaging through the reeds and communing with the wildlife.

Are you looking at me? I must have been up to something here, I've got that naughty bad look on my face.

Here I am clambering out of the swamp like a great scary creature. Girly could at least give me a hand instead of pointing the camera at me and laughing.

New Big Friend and I take a stroll along the boardwalk. We're the best of buds. Girly is somewhere behind us struggling with all the bags and camera gear, kind of like a pack mule, ha! ha!

The next day we stopped by another part of Pelee so I could have a look around.
Hummm, I wonder what's in here. Maybe a skunk I could flush out in Girly's direction.

A great place to sit for a photo opp. Come on Girly, get that camera snapping.

Later on that day Girly and New Big Friend locked me in the car and went kayaking on Lake Erie.

They didn't even crack a window for me...urg!

I should be with them. Look at this cool green carpet of plant matter on this estuary.

New Big Friend styling in his "yak". They are having too much fun without me. I'll get Girly, I'm sure it's all her fault I wasn't included.

Kayaking in Algonquin

One of my first overnight car trips with my humans was to Algonquin park were New Big Friend took me kayaking on Oxtonge Lake. Girly was on her own stuggling to keep up with us manly men as we glided along the water. Ha! Ha!

Here I am, a rather sporty shot of me.

I think we left Girly somewhere on the lake. What a shame we can't wait, it's lunch time. She might show up by the time we're finshed.

After a day of hard paddling we stayed in a motel in Huntsville. Girly had found us by then, darn it. The next day we toured the town and lunched on a patio. When it started to rain we decided to head home to Toronto.

New Big Friend let me drive. It's lots of fun playing chicken with oncoming traffic but Girly stopped the fun and I wasn't allowed to drive anymore.
